What are y'all using these days?

I used MSPaint some many years ago and I really thought it was the best because of its simplicity until I started using photoshop and realised that MSPaint is a simpleton and outdated software where you always need to do things the hardest way possible. It certainly served its purpose in the last decade but not anymore.

I use photoshop! The myriad of buttons can be quite scary at first but you will only be using pen and eraser... and the animation timeline if you feel like making gifs. I heard people in the past saying they use the color-blocking feature from MSPaint as an alternative for photoshop layers but it is definitely not the same.

Photoshop all the way... or gimp if you want a free option/does not partake in the pirate life. Paint tool SAI has pixel art capacity too, they call it "binary tools", or asesprite if you are into more sprite-like stuff and want more complex animations.

for dolls and pixel art i use a really old version of photoshop elements. not a programme i'd use for anything else, but for pixel stuff it's ok. cx

for other art i use krita! it's free and in my opinion it's honestly really good. i really like how the brushes work and it's so nice to paint in. c:

MS Paint or GIMP. I also had a free program that I think was called Paint.NET, that was nice but felt a little -sticky- or something. I was just giving Autodesk Sketchbook a try but when I zoom in it blurs (anti-aliases, I guess) the image so I can't do detail which is incredibly irritating.

I also started out with MS Paint and moved to Paint Shop Pro, first, but then I also moved on to Photoshop. I actually use GIMP now, since my version of Photoshop wasn't compatible with my computer after I upgraded, and it was easier and faster to just download GIMP. It works well enough for pixel art and basic image editing, which is all I need. It also has animation capability, too, though I haven't tried using it.

I used to use Photoshop as well but when the subscription came along I was no longer able to afford it. For the last year or so I've used a browser based program called Photopea. Currently I'm using Photopea and Aseprite.

I use a computer and graphic tablet

PC + mouse.
