08.19 *WRITING* Challenge: OC Prompts!

Thank you so much. As cruel as it sounds to say, I'm glad it was appropriately heart-wrenching. 

My series spans across multiple protagonists, settings, and times, all connected through a unifying event. It's what I like to call a spiderweb story. That kind of structure is effective to highlight the differences and similarities between individuals who might never understand one another. In this case, the focus is primarily humans and various types of supernaturals.

I'm using the frame of urban fantasy to show in that in the end, despite differences in culture, abilities, opportunity, class, age, health, beliefs, and so on, we all share in the same "human" experience and that nothing should ever be assumed about another person. I know that I can't just get people to accept that kind of message, but sparking a few conversations is enough for me. Reading about humans and shifters is easier to swallow than "real people" and might reach a larger audience. It's a lofty goal.

To achieve it, I need to be able to hit the right emotional chords. Prompts like this are good practice for focusing on individual facets of storytelling. So honestly, truly, I am very glad to hear that you experienced some emotion from this. I don't have any writing buddies and that sort of thing is hard to judge yourself.
